PSTN Failover

PSTN failover is a feature of both the four port and the wireless iiNet Belkin routers.

In practical terms, the PSTN failover port allows the following:

• The handset connected to the VoIP modem will ring and take calls on the normal landline when a call comes in
• If VoIP is not available, the handset connected to the VoIP modem will default to using the landline for making calls

The PSTN failover cable goes to the phone line, and must be filtered, otherwise there's a good chance it will interfere with your ADSL.

To force an outgoing call to use the PSTN line, dial ** then wait for the dial tone, then dial the number normally.
